The house is a three bed-room apartment in west Delhi facing the main road. The whole house was renovated keeping in mind that it belongs to a nuclear working family.

The main requirement was one bed room, one kid’s room and the whole area well connected. It was essential to take care of the noise levels since the apartment faces main road.

Need of House owners

  • They required connectivity among the rooms so that no area is isolated or detached.
  • Best use of sunlight was required so that house is well ventilated and well lit.
  • A colourful house and have an element of joy, simple & specific space for everything.
  • Since both are working, kitchen not to be a secluded area for the lady of the house.

The area is very small but because of the designing concepts the house looks big and spacious.

USP of the house

In one sentence, our home is our relaxing abode, full of life, taking you away from the madness of daily life. As designers our exposure to the interior world and new concepts is humongous but none the less our house has kept simplicity essence intact. However it is accentuated by clean modern lines, a standout feature is the transparency afforded by the design with all spaces barring the two bedrooms, being interconnected. For instance, the open drawing room, lounge and dining area ensures that guest can freely interact and be a part of home as such. The oneness of the space is further highlighted as we have Italian flooring throughout the home except for the drawing room. Also functionality took precedence over design of the entire home.

Drawing Room

The wooden flooring of the drawing room gives it a warm feeling. The drawing room being the first introduction to the house as soon as somebody enters was created to reflect our inner personalities. Since I did not want to embellish it too much, the false ceiling was limited. The area was highlighted by just a very pretty chandelier which gives it own shade of dark and light on the walls. The wall was hand painted with free birds as concept, majorly depicting our inner selves. The furniture is neutral with a golden tint. Right when you enter the house, you see a wall highlighted in gold leafing as a back drop to mandir. The TV lounge and dining are right across to have an uninterrupted interactions between the members of the family. The hand cut wood ceiling and flooring gives dining its own well defined space. The friendly light hung above the dining is the main attraction. The TV lounge with a small book corner has an L shape very comfortable sofa to watch your favourite TV show or just lie down.

The kitchen furnished with modular accessories has everything at their defined place. Small but capacious, this kitchen has all the amenities required.

Master Bed Room

The master bed room hosts a nice leather back bed with simple cuts highlighted with the use of very subdued wall paper, the look of the room in one world is ‘serene’.

Kid’s Room

The kid’s room is fun filled with colours splashing on one wall, a white board at kid’s height and a wardrobe with drawers below for the kid to operate himself. Uncluttered, it gives ample space for the kid to play freely. No sharp corners, no loose cabinets, no breakable item ensures kids safety.

The windows of the house are big to ensure sunlight and ventilation but also double glazed to avoid unwanted noise.

The end of this project can be said that this home is simple and functional yet offers the design aesthetics and amenities of an indulgent luxurious lifestyle.
